About Us
Family and Children’s Service of the Capital Region is the oldest counseling and family service not-for-profit in the country. Today, the organization provides thousands of families and individuals with the counseling, programs and information resources they need to maintain satisfying and healthy lives. Clients may benefit from flexibly scheduled counseling and specialty services that are provided by seasoned licensed therapists and information professionals. Capital Region Info Line is a program of Family and Children’s Service of the Capital Region, and works a bit like 911. Calls to Human Service Info Line are confidential and routed by the telephone company to a local call center by dialing (518) 694-8900 or toll free 1 (888) 366-3211. The Human Service Info Line call center Information and Referral Specialists gather information on the caller's needs, access databases of resources available from private, public health, and human service agencies, match the callers' needs to available resources, and link or refer them directly to an agency or organization that can help. Types of referrals offered by Human Service Info Line include Basic Human Need Resources ,Physical and Mental Health Resources, Work Support, Support for Elderly and the Disabled, Children, Youth, and Family Support
